The mission of New World Montessori School is to provide the highest quality Montessori experience within a safe and healthy environment.
Our educational environment is based upon the principles of Dr. Maria Montessori. The primary goal is to prepare each child for life and to assist parents who
are searching for the best way to support their child’s future contribution to society.
This is accomplished by:
• Treating children with respect.
Each child is recognized as a unique learner. The
adult interactions with the child support the child’s growth and recognize each child follows his or her own special rate of development.
• Fostering within each child a sense of belonging within an extended family structure.
Children living within a multiage group have the opportunity to develop
the social skills of compassion, helpfulness, initiative, cooperation, and problem solving.
• Providing a rich and stimulating learning environment appropriate to the child’s needs thereby encouraging children to reach their full potential.
Children have the opportunity to explore activities in the areas of care of self, care of the environment, language, literature, music, art, exploration of the
five senses, math and science.
• Supporting each child’s ability to act in a responsible manner.
Learning within a Montessori environment over a three to four year
period promotes children’s development of leadership skills as they cooperate with and assist other children.
The development of responsibility for their actions with other members of their school community, for the materials they handle on a daily basis, and for the outdoor environment of plants and animals is supported by caring adults within the school community.
